Stamford S0L1-S41 Single-Phase Alternator – 13.5 kW Class

The Stamford S0L1-S41 is a genuine single-bearing, brushless alternator designed for compact diesel generator sets in the 12–13.5 kW range. Configured for 120/240 V, single-phase, 60 Hz operation, this 4-pole, 1800 RPM generator end delivers stable output for homes, farms, mobile power and light commercial standby where reliable single-phase power is critical. It is commonly used on Aurora diesel generators in the 10–13 kW class, replacing older 164C-style heads with modern S-range technology.

Built on Stamford’s S0 core with wire-wound construction and CoreCooling™ airflow, the S0L1-S41 combines high power density with long service life. A self-excited field and analogue AVR (AS480 or equivalent) provide tight voltage regulation under changing loads, while class H insulation, IP23 enclosure and UL/IEC/NEMA/CSA compliance support continuous duty in demanding environments. The single-bearing design mounts directly to the engine flywheel through SAE bellhousing hardware, making it a drop-in choice for new Aurora builds or replacement of existing 12–13.5 kW generator heads.

  • Power & voltage: 12–13.5 kW class, 120/240 V, single-phase, 60 Hz, 4-pole, 1800 RPM
  • Configuration: Brushless, self-excited alternator with 4-wire single-phase winding and 12-terminal stator platform
  • Regulation: Analogue AVR (AS480/AS540 family) with fast response and stable single-phase sensing
  • Construction: Single-bearing, direct-coupled design for SAE bellhousings and flywheels; compact S0 frame with CoreCooling™
  • Thermal rating: Class H insulation with 125 °C rise at 40 °C ambient for robust standby and light prime applications
  • Protection & standards: IP23 drip-proof housing; designed to meet BS EN 60034, BS5000, NEMA MG1-32 and CSA C22.2 requirements
  • Typical engine match: Suited to ~18–20 HP diesel engines at 1800 RPM for full output in 12 kW generator sets
  • Application range: Ideal for residential backup, agricultural loads, telecom sites, mobile power trailers and small industrial equipment

For Aurora customers upgrading from older 164C or similar generator ends, the Stamford S0L1-S41 offers improved motor-starting capability, reduced assembly time and straightforward service with plug-and-play AVR and accessible terminal box. Its proven S-range platform and global parts support make it a long-term, serviceable choice for serious diesel power users in Canada and the USA.
